Flavours from the Middle East
Having interviewed Ahlam from Palestine recently it reminded me of a year ago when I spoke with Maha from Jordan for the book HOMELANDS THEN & NOW, to tell me about her journey from her birth country to New Zealand. I remember her telling me about the traditional food the family still enjoys here and the beautiful colourful photographs she supplied for the book.
I love my food and enjoy flavours from around the world. It is only natural then that I decided to search for some mouthwatering recipes from Palestine, following Ahlam’s story.
If you have an exotic palate or would like to experience the Middle Eastern taste we have two fabulous places right here in New Plymouth, in Cafe Turquoise, 81 Devon St West and Cafe Turkey New Plymouth, 145 Devon St East. They serve excellent Turkish cuisine with an authentic feel of the culture.
