International Migrants Day is commemorated on December 18 as declared by the General Assembly of United Nations on 4 December 2000 considering the large and multiplying number of migrants all over the world.
It marks the day in 1990 when the United Nations Assembly adopted the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families.
Migrant Connections Taranaki is having a free luncheon at the Te Piere O Te Rangi room at Western Institute of technology at Taranaki (WITT) at 20 Bell Street to mark this day on Wednesday 18th December from 10.30am-1pm. All are Welcome.
